Weekend (pt 2)

So then I woke up on Saturday at around 4pm and headed out at 5pm for Metrotown to meet Gabby and some friends of hers that I didn't previously know for a birthday party. It turned out to be somewhat of a joint party because her friend had had a birthday shortly before her. I felt bad because I didn't bring a present - I was just so busy in the flurry of things, although I guess that's not a great excuse. How bout the excuse of you never know with people whether they expect gifts and so what if I had brought one and been the only one to and then it might have been awkward. What then, hmm? HMM?

Anyways the birthday was all about doing things for the first time...at least it turned out that way for me. I don't think I've ever used one of those photocard booth things to get a group picture on a card, I don't think I've ever had Korean food in a restaurant where you cook the meat yourself on your table, and I know I've never been to a karaoke place before. So yeah..met some new people, did some new stuff. It's all good.

That wasn't my whole weekend...

Busy weekends

This weekend there were again 3 things I did. Every single weekend since school ended has been fairly full of events, I really never have a lazy boring day. I almost starting to wish for one. Yet I keep volunteering/agreeing to do things that I don't think that will happen soon. What can I say, I like people and I don't really do much of anything with anyone who lives in this house. This weekend I was barely at home. What'd I do this weekend...

1) I Went to the Relay of Life Friday night which basically consisted of hanging out at the track at Bear Creek park from 6pm - 7:30 am or so and walking and running around the track for some of that. The idea was to keep one person from our team going around the track at all times but they weren't too strict on that. Why did I do it? It was for a good cause and it meant having a fun time with friends...plus I have never stayed up all night surrounded by that many people before. There were more than 40 teams I believe.

There were also games throughout the night such as Volleyball (lost the first game quite badly thus being put out of the tournament), Scavenger hunt (were too lazy to play), a pie eating contest (some nasty chick decided to throw her pie around rather than eat it, Name that Tune (TV theme songs, I got our team the only point), the Dating Game, (according to Rob the question that seals the deal is what your favorite music group is (contestant 2 said Zepplin)), and poker (3rd out of 5).

I'm lazy...I'll talk about the other two things later.

TAPLE

What another whirlwind weekend. First there was the Open House where I spent 5 hours playing with a Smart Board and explaining to people how it worked. I was rewarded with some lunch money and a t-shirt. It wasn't even pizza...well because I could use the lunch money for whatever I wanted. I bet I could have bought a whole lot of pizza slices...but that wasn't what I wanted. I know someone who went to the SFU Surrey open house events on Satuday instead. I bet he ate pizza. Google SFU Surrey and my friend's blog comes up right at the top. And I found this page of pictures from school in the results...people all have the same pose...you think they could have been more exciting.

On Sunday I participated in the BC Child run which managed to raise $13,086,895 from it. That was some healthy exercise and I went with a group from work. Now my boss actually believes I'm in good shape. Yes, and I believe that in the olden days everything was black and white. Hmm..now tell me why there is a whole category on I Used To Believe about toilets? They must be very mysterious to youngsters.

Later on Sunday I went to the school and had a meeeeeeeeeting. It was long you know. Not much was accomplished. I single handely accomplish even less. I think we have too many designers in the company we are trying to start up. I'm not one of them. The evening was more fun as we watched a movie and a bit of X-men cartoons and pool at Rob's house before I left to get to bed early enough to work today.

By the way, the title of this post comes from an ad at the Pho place that boasts a Chair - Nail Taple. I think Rob still has the number if you want to contact them.

Goodie Bag!

Yeah so I'm on a charity run kick and I have two coming up in the next couple weeks. Between those and the SFU openhouse I should be recieving 3 free t-shirts. Not that I need more. Not that that's the reason I do anything.

Since this first one is the BC Child's run...I found some rather childish things in the goodie bag I was given today. I'm not sure what the fish is for.

Apparently I have pictures on my camera's hard drive from when there was snow...SNOW...here. Yeah, I guess I no longer use my camera that much.
