Nate's photos

So, I have noticed that this term Nate has taken lots of photos of me. When I say lots I mean many and when I say many I mean tons! Adam went as far as to say Nate has a DTD fetish. Here are some of the photos Nate sent me.

I have my own photographer. Do you?

Florida!

So, I took my third trip in a month - this time to Florida! We stayed in an awesome vacation home, with a pool table and pool. We went out clubbing on Pleasure Island in downtown Disney, and to a Murder Mystery dinner where we interrogated the characters between dinner and dessert. I was really there to go to an technology and anesthesiology conference which was informative at times, and boring at others. I got some new insight into American's and how they say "At the end of the day, it's all 'show me the money'". Here I thought it was about patient safety.

Here are some random photos from the trip.

This entry is pretty late, but I just today finished catching up on all my homework.

Doors hate Us

And so ends the first week of school. Despite having way too much to do this week I'm still finding some time for social stuff. Today people are coming over to play board games.

Yesterday was fun. Tanya, Gordo and I left the school to go to a movie at 6:25ish. The movie started at 7:15. The bus that goes right over there had already left so we had to go down to Scott Road on the skytrain and catch a faster bus over there. Anyways, we had time to kill because that bus wouldn't leave for a little bit. But those two don't care... Gordo wanted to run up the stairs to get on the arriving skytrain.

He got his foot in the sktrain door as it was closing and fell down. I was telling to get up and let the train go but he was telling me to get in it, so I stepped over his foot and into the train followed by Tanya. She tripped over the foot though and when sprawling into the train. She decided the floor was comfortable and remained sitting there till we got off. Apparently it's my fault there were no pictures of any of it because I was the one with a camera. Well, here is a picture of Tanya on the floor where she ended up.

Anyways, we then ran for the bus that was just leaving...an earlier one than I planned to take... and Tanya discovered the stupidity of the people who designed the station, what with a railing circling around the side of the doorway to block you from getting down that way.

Movie was good although quite open ended as Tanya said. It was Children of Men.

On the way back the bus doors decided to close on Tanya and force her back inside until the bus driver turned them back on. Then they tried to shut on Gordo again. Up on the skytrain platform I briefly lost control of my pop as I failed to hold it with both hands in my pockets. It was cold out!

Q and Rob picked us up in Q's rented car from Gateway station and Q started driving with Gordo's leg still out the door.

Doors are funny things.

Whistler 2.0

The results are in and this Whistler trip of 2007 was officially better than Whistler 1.0 of 2006. For one thing I wasn't sick at all. The only person I know of who was sick for any of it was Murray. Thank you Murray for not infecting us all.

The trip was too long to discuss in full here but it was amazing. First there was the Walk to the Village which was cut short due to some daring balancing where some of the guys risked their testicles. Then there was the chowing down at the spaghetti factory where the people made me want to rage at them for not gettin Nate's food (leading to him stealing free bread).

From there it just got more eventful. From drunk/hyper Rob's antics to the Back to the Future marathon. From the stabbing of my toenail to release pressure to Alex's black eye from Rob during the football (with a sledding saucer rather than a football) game. From the crazy schemes of the time change where the clocks were set ahead 3 hours to the long deep sauna conversations followed by dashes in the snow. From the sledding runs where Alex almost slid into / got run over by a truck to the undigging of Q's car to find a couple windows smashed in.

It was something else. I wonder if it will happen again next year.

New Years

So now it's 2007 (Like that's news to you). New years eve was good, what with friends coming to chill at our place, and a good countdown to the new year, which doesn't always happen for me. I remember one year I was on the skytrain at midnight. No one was that excited. We started 2007 off by watching Stranger than Fiction which was even better a second time. (We really started the new year off by spending 45 minutes deciding which movie to watch, but that's a given).

We took a bunch of photos right after midnight as we had decided to take on the challenge of taking one photo a day for a year. I'm not sure how long I'll last, but it's not hard to take a photo so if I screw up then it's just from forgeting. Since there appears to be 8 of us doing it, we can remind each other about it. We've all got Flickr accounts. Here's mine.

I'm going to Whistler tomorrow. So I'll catch you all next week!
