Stormy

So this weekend was eventful.

On Friday I had a demo to give at work of the software project I've worked on for more than 3 years now. It went quite well. I was going to bike to work with my new bike shorts and bags but unfortunately the power went out sometime in the night and messed up my alarm clock. Luckily I woke up just in time to get there by bus and skytrain and then more bus.

On Saturday, I went for a run and then did some work in the morning before going into Vancouver to the grad student BBQ at Jericho beach. It was fun. We kicked around the soccer ball. I went swimming twice and we had some burgers and delicious shish kabobs (man those two words look weird). Around 7:30 it started to rain a bit so the BBQ was over but this just meant I traveled across a small part of the city to Vanier park where my family had setup to watch the fireworks later. It was still raining and lightning started lighting up the sky that wouldn't stop for the next three hours. We found a decent spot to watch the fireworks but didn't have umbrellas and it started pouring just as they started. The fireworks were alright although I think that Canada did a much better job on Wednesday. After the fireworks driving out of the area was a huge pain and really slow, but that's how it usually is.

On Sunday it was hot as hell again. I stayed indoors and worked from home and then went for my first swim in the apartment's outdoor pool. It was alright, but very chloriney.

On Monday I went for a run which turned me into a puddle of sweat. Then I went to the driving range with my dad and proceeded to get 7 or 8 blisters on my hands. I think it was a combination of holding the club too tight and sweating too much. Not too much fun. Anyways, this didn't stop me from going to the pitch and putt later that day after we had a swim in my aunt's pool. It was a good day.

Yes this is my mom, but that is not her normal expression.
